Adding Average Titer or Blank in Tiamo

This document guides the operator in creating a method to take the average of (n) number of runs, as in blank or titer determinations. 

Technology: Titration 

Procedure to Create

  • In Tiamo, open Titer or Blank method (Method > File > Open).
  • Double click on the ‘START/Main track’ command.

  • Enable Statistics. 
  • Enter the ‘Number of Single Determinations’ to calculate statistics on (minimum of 3 is recommended for most applications).
 

 

  • Click OK to exit. 
  • Double click on the ‘CALC/Calculations’ command.

  • Ensure the calculation is programmed for the titer/blank value of a single run. 
    • Please note the calculation for titer/blank shown below does not necessarily represent an actual titer/blank calculation. 
 
  • Double click on the Result name to ensure statistics is enabled (represented by a check mark under Statistics column shown below).

  • Create a new calculation by clicking the New button as seen above.
  • Name the result something representative such as “Avg Titer” or “Avg Blank” (disable statistics for this calculation). 
  • Double-click the formula editor.
  • Use the tree menu for variables to locateResults” and expand the menu. Choose the folder for the name of your first result (in this case “Titer/blank”) and choose the variable MNV. Click Add. The formula editor screen should resemble the figure below.

  • Click OK to accept the changes. 
  • Click the Options tab of the Avg Titer/Blank result.
  • Select the optionSave result as titer” or “Save result as common variable”.
    • If selecting “Save result as titer” the software will ask the operator to assign a solution to this value. Remember – all available solutions can be found under the Configuration screen.
    • This data will be written to the data chip of the associated dosing unit or exchange unit. If the system does not have an intelligent dosing unit or exchange unit OR the chip is defective, the best option is to save the result as a common variable.
  • Before being able to choose this option, a common variable must be created. To do this – navigate to the Configuration screen, locate the common variables sub-screen and select Edit > New. 
 
 

 

  • Click OK to save the new calculation. 
  • Save the method (File > Save). 
 

Procedure to Use Titer/Common Variable as Part of a Calculation  

  • To add titer value from the solutions list, use the variable shown below in the formula editor. 

  • To add the titer/blank value from common variables, use the formula show below in the formula editor.
