Introduction
If an LL-Ag/AgCl (gel) reference electrode has dried out, it cannot be regenerated. Unlike refillable reference systems, both the maintenance-free 6.0728.x40 reference system and the gel-filled electrolyte vessel must be replaced if they have dried out. Attempting to restore either component will not return the electrode to proper operating condition.
This article explains how to identify a dried-out LL-Ag/AgCl (gel) reference electrode and outlines the required replacement procedure. If the maintenance-free reference system has dried out, the reference system must be replaced. Likewise, if the KCl gel in the electrolyte vessel has dried out, the electrolyte vessel must also be replaced. Replacing the affected components ensures a stable reference potential and reliable electrochemical measurement performance.
