Exporting Determination Files - MagIC Net

MagIC Net - How to Export .idet files. 

Overview

There are two steps necessary to export data files. First, an export template must be created. Once the template is created, the .idet files can easily be exported from the software. 

Instructions for Template Creation

  1. Go to Database → Tools → Templates → Select Export Templates. 

  2. The Export Templates window opens. Select 'New'. 
  3. The Export Template 'New File' window will open. 
  4. Rename and create a comment if desired. 
  5. Select the target directory you wish to have the files exported to, e.g. flash drive, desktop folder. 
  6. File type = *.idet (MagIC Net format). 
  7. File Name = Sample Identification, Ident. 

  8. Select Okay to close out of the Export Template 'New File' window. 
  9. Select Close to close out of the Export Templates. 

Instructions for Exporting Data Files 

  1. Go back into the database. Select the files you wish to export by using CTRL + click to highlight the required files. 
  2. Select Determinations in the upper ribbon and chose Export...

  3. 'Export Determinations' window will appear. Selection = all selected data records. Use the drop-down menu to select the Export Template previously created if it has not already been populated. Select 'OK'. 

  4. The lower right-hand corner will have a status bar indicating the export is in progress. 

  5. Once complete, navigate to the folder designated while creating the export template to view the data files. 

  6. If necessary, move the exported files to a USB flash drive if email access is not available on the MagIC Net PC. 
  7. Zip the files in a folder if sending to Metrohm Technical Support for review.
